As Fire is powering more and more features on Big Data Analytics and Engineering, there are more and more Operational needs.
Fire already provides Scheduling Workflows by time. It makes it extremely easy for anyone to easily schedule their hourly, daily, weekly and monthly workflows.
There is also a need for triggering workflows by Event. The use case for this is that another system which completed certain work, wants a workflow to be triggered by Fire. It also wants to pass parameters to the workflows.
Triggering by Events in Kafka
Apache Kafka is widely used by our Customers. Hence the easiest way for users to ask Fire to trigger a workflow is by pushing an event in to Kafka.
